Adding and Removing Sites

This feature is only available in iRedistrict for Site.

iRedistrict for sites allows users to add and remove existing site locations to evaluate its impact which is useful for evaluating candidate sites such as opening a new school or closing an existing school. The image below hows three interface buttons that one can use to add a new school, remove an existing school, or reset the features to the original setting.

To add a new site, click the Add button and then click on the map to trigger an attribute form . With the attribute form, one can add a candidate site with necessary attributes. The location (latitude and longitude coordinates) fields are automatically populated from the click on the map. Capacity is the only required field. Attributes in this form come from the point shapefile data attributes. Therefore, the content will vary depending on the actual redistricting data file being used. After the attribute form is completed, a new site is added at the location on the map.
