Map Visualization

iRedistrict® allows the data to be visualized.

From the drop-down box under Variables, a different variable can be chosen to show in the map.

one can select a variable other than the primary optimization parameter, choose a different color scheme, and turn on/off the color (“Fill”) and value labels (“Label”) to change the display of the map within the Control Panel. The labels are only visible when the scale allows (otherwise labels may overlap each other). If you do not see the labels when the “Label” box is checked, zoom in on the map to read them.

Color Scheme: One can choose a different color scheme for visualization. The color schemes are saved in the color.xml file within the conf folder. Customized color schemes can be added into this file.

Fill: One can turn on/off the map color by using the Fill checkbox. Using the Label checkbox will turn on/off the labels.

Label: Turning on the “Label” can be useful for manual editing, which can allow one to see the student population in each unit before changing its district assignment.

Note: Selecting a different variable for map visualization does not change the primary optimization parameter.
